Avoid the AdSense Junkie Syndrome

  By  : Lisa Paredes

You know that you are a true AdSense junkie when you own 40 or more AdSense sites. Is it easy to make money from AdSense? Sure. But just imagine how much more money you could be making if you shifted your mindset and focus from building that type of site. What if AdSense banned you? Would you still have a business? Would you still make money online? And more importantly, are you truly building assets if you don't actually own your own products and services?

You Get Banned

So let's pretend for a moment that AdSense bans you. How much income would you lose? Would you be able to recover? Does it scare you to think that if AdSense banned you, a huge chunk of your income or, worse, maybe all of it would be lost? If you're depending solely on AdSense, this should be your wake-up call.

Add Products and Services

Now, you don't necessarily have to go out and delete all your AdSense sites if you are making money from them. The point is that you should add products and services to some of them. That way, if you DO get banned, your cash flow won't be interrupted at all because you actually are making money from selling your own products.

Promoting Affiliate Products is Great, But. . .

Getting those affiliate checks in the mail is great, but something similar to the Adsense banning scenario described above can happen. What if the affiliate program you were promoting closed its virtual doors? How much income would you lose? Would you still have a business?

Stop Thinking AdSense is Everything

We're not trying to bash AdSense. We're only trying to get you to think outside of the box. If you focus on AdSense too much, you are turning your attention away from building an actual Internet business. Yes, adding products and services can take time and effort on your part, but you'll be building an Internet business that will stand the test of time.

Conclusion

Earning income from AdSense is great, but just think how much better you could be doing if you actually offered your own products or services. Instead of planning to build 500 AdSense sites, think of building a solid business that adds value to the world in general. If you find you are managing too many AdSense sites, and you are not building a solid business, think of selling those sites and using all the money you make from the sales to build one solid business that produces more money than all of your AdSense income combined.
